LS Retail is among the top ten point of sale (POS) software vendors in the world per number of POS installations, according to research and consulting firm RBR’s annual “Global POS Software” report. LS Retail accounts for one in 20 new point of sale installations.
RBR provides global research and consulting services. They have three decades of experience in banking and retail technology, cards, and payments.
The Global POS Software 2022 report is based on analysis of projects with at least 1,000 POS software installations globally. The study covers more than 2,350 projects. The report analyzed over 120 suppliers across 48 country markets, looking at sectors within retail and hospitality including grocery, apparel, electronics, DIY, department stores, hotels, and restaurants.
The report found that new POS software deployments increased in the year between June 2021 and June 2022, with nearly 390,000 new installations taking place in those twelve months. The study also found that many large-scale grocery and convenience retailers are moving to a different POS supplier to expand the availability and range of in-store touchpoints.
“Operators in retail and hospitality need innovative technology that keeps them ahead of consumer demands,” says Kristjan Johannsson, Chief Commercial Officer at LS Retail. “LS Retail solutions are successful for three main reasons: they are built around deep industry knowledge and deliver specialized functionality. They are SaaS solutions, keeping businesses always up to date and on the latest version. And they can support retailers’ needs globally: we currently have customers in over 150 countries, and the number just keeps on growing.”
